The Weather in Tenerife
Here’s the weather – today it’s sunny and hot !
Tenerife weather benefits from a mild and temperate climate, with almost constant sunshine throughout the year. With temperatures rarely getting above 35C and daytime temperatures rarely dropping below 20C.
What little rainfall that occurs tends to be in the central and northern mountainous areas – meaning that the island is doubly blessed by rainfall and dry days by the coast.
Tenerife is kept warm by its southerly latitude and cool by the cooling properties of the sea.
The Trade Winds surrounding the island cool it in summer keeping and stabilising the surrounding air temperatures. No wonder mariners of old referred to the Canary Islands as the Fortunate Isles.
